Recent News - Back 2 The Max, Little River, 11 & 12 October 2008!

  • 2008 marks the 30th anniversary of the completion of filming for Mad Max. To celebrate, the Little River Historical Society is holding a Mad Max 30th Anniversary Event on the weekend of October 11 & 12. There will be car displays, memorabilia and information displays, tours of the locations, special guests and other fan events. The full schedule is still to be confirmed, but mark the dates in your calendar now, and further updates will be posted here when they become available.


  • UPDATE: A program of events can now be found at the Little River Historical Society web site, http://home.vicnet.net.au/~lrhs/madmax.html. If you wish to view the whole site, their web page can be found here, and an information page can also be found on the Wyndham City Council web site. Please also visit www.madmaxmovies.com for some further event updates.


    • TICKETING: Back 2 The Max - Mad Max 30th Anniversary! Ticketing for the event is now available, please visit the Little River Historical Society's web site for full ticketing information, the schedule of events (ticketed and non-ticketed events) and further details.

    • If you wish to order tickets via Credit Card, please see the ticket ordering page at this site. Please be sure to read through the schedule of events and other information at the Little River Historical Society's site prior to placing your order. 

  • TICKETING UPDATE (3 OCT 2008): With the event now less than a week away, no further Platinum Pass tickets will be mailed out. You may still place your order, but the tickets will need to be picked up in person either at the movie on the Friday, or at the event on the Saturday. If you intend on attending the Saturday dinner, please note that catering numbers will be finalised on Tuesday October 7th - we cannot guarantee the availability of Platinum Passes to the Saturday dinner beyond Tuesday.

  • TICKETING UPDATE (8 OCT 2008): Please note that ticketing for Back 2 The Max 2008 "The Dinner" is now finalised. There are a very limited number of unused tickets available - please email sales@back2themax.com or confirm with the Little River Historical Society before placing an order - availability cannot be guaranteed at this point. This applies to the dinner event ONLY, all other displays for the Saturday / Sunday are of course open to all comers throughout the weekend, and there are still tickets available to the cinema screening.



 

General News / About the Site

  • The  Back 2 The Max web site originally went online for the July 2002 Mad Max 2 Reunion in Broken Hill. At the site, you can still find archives of photos and information from that reunion, along with the Back 2 The Max DVD documentary.

  • Since 2002, the site has been used to advertise other Mad Max events, large and small, involving the Back 2 The Max team. The current event is of course the 2008 Mad Max reunion in Little River, Victoria (see the recent news section above).

  • Other events of the past have included Mad Max car displays at Easternats, a Mad Max day out at Phillip Island raceway, and so on - check back from time to time to see what's happening, and also remember to check out www.madmaxmovies.com.

    • The Back 2 The Max DVD from the 2002 reunion is always available, in both PAL and NTSC. Head to the DVD page for ordering information.

  • Black Crew T-Shirts are currently sold out. It is currently anticipated that 30th anniversary shirts will be produced for the Little River event (see above) - updated images and ordering information will be online at the T-Shirts page closer to the event, so head back then for further information.
